Active Acne

The bacteria colonise in the sebaceous gland and blocks it causing acne.
If it's active acne (Acne Vulgaris) the blue lamp is used, to destroy the bacteria immediately on contact and stops it spreading allowing it to heal. Intense pulsed light eradicates the bacteria and gently heats up the skin around the spots, producing collagen that boosts the healing process.

Acne Scarring

Acne causes inflammation, and inflammation causes pigmentation, which is called acne scarring. We at Beauty in a Flash can treat mild to moderate scarring with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). A combination of the blue acne lamp and the yellow skin rejuvenation lamp is tailor made to suit the client's needs.
We can treat old acne scarring from years ago, for acute acne scarring a more invasive treatment is required like laser skin resurfacing. There is no specific course for this treatment, as individuals acne differs, some clients require only 3 treatments, and others require more with 6 monthly top-ups, to keep their skin looking clear.
